Discussing the themes of unpredictability and appreciation..

In this body of work, I used an evolution of my favourite art process. Starting with a bright vivid ground I lay the ground work for composition, I mix my oils in intentionally muted colours for contrast and tension. While paying deliberate attention to composition and tonalities, the collage and line work add complexity and interest highlighting the individuality and whimsy of each painting. With intentional strokes, my goal is that the forms are defined without any overwork to allow the viewer’s mind to fill in the gaps and enjoy the medium as well as the visual outcome.
