Common Ground
Acrylics on 12 30x30cm canvases (totalling approx 180cm x 138cm)
2025
USD 2400
Composed of 12 small canvases (each 30x30cm), the large work boasts connected scenes of at least 3 different regions while naturally connecting with the water, the sky and the people that unite us all. As the work developed it became clear that the common thread that bound these scenes together was our gaze, our line of sight, our wandering and wondering. The choice of contrasting the landscape with wabi-sabi styled golden lines to represent this thought is meant to engage the viewer thinking about how we look at things and to draw attention to the choices in composition and other technical aspects while putting a contemporary flair to the otherwise timeless work.
